Liverpool pounced to sign Takumi Minamino in January 2020, but he’s yet to really make an impact for the Reds.
The Japanese international had excelled with Red Bull Salzburg, earning his big move to Anfield for around £7.25m.
He hasn’t yet got going with Liverpool though, which resulted in a January loan move to Premier League rivals Southampton.
How did Minamino perform at Southampton?
Minamino hit two goals in 10 games for the Saints, scoring against Newcastle United and Chelsea during his time with Ralph Hasenhutl.
Southampton seemingly want Minamino back again, but the Liverpool Echo claim that Jurgen Klopp has decided not to let him go.
Klopp would seemingly like to have Minamino around for Liverpool’s pre-season preparations, meaning no exit will happen.

Liverpool fans react to Minamino latest
Fans on Twitter believe that this is the right decision from Klopp, and that they hope it’s true that Minamino will be staying.
Others think that Liverpool will regret losing Minamino if they do offload him, suggesting that he will be another Danny Ings.
Some add that Minamino now deserves a chance to shine at Liverpool, and Klopp should now use him moving forward.
