A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to Southampton’s video announcing the arrival of Che Adams which included a cameo from Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

Adams has become the second signing of the summer for the Saints, with BBC Sport reporting that he has joined from Birmingham City for £15 million following a campaign in which he scored 22 goals in the Championship.

It has become customary for many clubs to produce videos on social media when they have a new signing to unveil. And unsurprisingly, the Saints – who have produced some outstanding announcements down the years, perhaps most famously, posting an incredible video to confirm a new contract for then-third choice goalkeeper Stuart Taylor – decided to have a little fun as they confirmed Adams’ arrival.

In the video, the ‘Ralph Express’ can be seen leaving Southampton for Birmingham. Along the way however, Liverpool boss Klopp flies in with a pair of binoculars to have a look at who is St Mary’s-bound.

It is a surprise cameo from the German, making reference to the number of players who have left the Saints for Anfield in recent years, with Virgil van Dijk the latest player to head to Merseyside after getting their Premier League break on the south coast.

But the video has gone down extremely well with the large majority of Liverpool fans on social media, as they could definitely see the funny side. And while Saints fans will be hoping that history does not repeat itself anytime soon, they will be keen to see Adams produce the kind of form that makes the rest of the league sit up and take notice.
