The former Southampton livewire was arguably Liverpool’s best and most energetic player but his decision making arguably let him down.
Any chance that the Reds created was fluffed by the Senegalese star, who was also perhaps guilty of shooting when he should have passed on a couple of occasions.
And fans of the Anfield club are berating his selfishness on Twitter:
Mane is undeniably a quite brilliant player but Liverpool fans were right – he can be selfish.
That being said, you can understand someone of his ability having the self confidence to go for goal on certain occasions, even when passing to a team-mate is perhaps the better option.
The 26-year-old, a £34 million signing in 2016, has played a massive role in Jurgen Klopp’s side reaching the Champions League final, netting nine goals in 10 appearances in that competition this season.
And although the Reds supporters might be frustrated by Mane today, the anger will turn to love on May 26 if he plays a big part in helping Liverpool lift a sixth European Cup title by beating Real Madrid.
