Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool reportedly wanted to sign Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2018.

Liverpool were linked with a move for Ruben Neves in the summer transfer window, with FourFourTwo reporting in April 2018 that the Reds were interested in signing the midfielder from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Neves was one of the best players in the Championship last season and was a key figure in Wolves clinching automatic promotion to the Premier League.
According to WhoScored, the 21-year-old midfielder scored six goals and provided one assist in 42 Championship appearances for the Wanderers last season, according to WhoScored.
Neves, though, stayed at Wolves and signed a new contract with the Wanderers in July 2018, as announced on the club’s official website.
The 21-year-old was in action for Wolves in their Premier League game against Liverpool at the Molineux Stadium on Friday evening.
Much was expected of the Portugal international against Jurgen Klopp’s team, but the youngster failed to do much of note.
According to WhoScored, the youngster took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 75.4%, and made four tackles, three interceptions, one clearance and one block.
Liverpool fans were not impressed with the performance of Neves for Wolves against the Reds.
