Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with Udinese star Rodrigo De Paul.
According to Corriere dello Sport (print edition, page 25, Friday, January 15, 2021), Liverpool are interested in signing De Paul from Udinese.
The defending Premier League champions are looking at the Argentina international – who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger – as a potential replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, who is out of contract at the Reds in the summer of 2021, according to the report.
De Paul has scored three goals and provided one assist in 16 Serie A appearances for Udinese so far this season, according to WhoScored.
During the 2019-20 campaign, the Argentina international made 33 starts and one substitute appearance in the league, scoring seven goals and providing six assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
Back in 2018-19, De Paul scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 36 league games, while in 2017-18, he scored four goals and gave seven assists in 25 league starts, according to WhoScored.
De Paul has been linked with Leeds United as well. The Sun claimed earlier this month that head coach Marcelo Bielsa wants his Argentine compatriot at Elland Road.
Udinese are fighting for survival in Serie A at the moment, and it remains to be seen if the Italian club are willing to sell one of their best players in the middle of the season.
Some Liverpool fans given their take on speculation regarding De Paul, and below are some of the best comments, with one supporter suggesting that the Reds sign him to push Naby Keita.
