Liverpool are reportedly interested in bringing Real Sociedad’s Diego Llorente to the Premier League.

Ever since The Sun reported last month that Jurgen Klopp had told Liverpool to find him a new centre-back or two in the summer, The Reds have been linked with a number of talented defenders.

First there was Matthias Ginter and Matthijs de Ligt, now Diego Llorente.

Liverpool have expressed an interest in the talented Real Sociedad star, according to Basque publication Noticias de Gipuzkoa. It is claimed that they have sent scouts to watch Llorente in action this season and have been impressed enough to plan a £26 million bid.

But what would Liverpool be getting in the former Real Madrid youngster? Well, an intelligent and versatile defender whose impressive ball-playing style should align perfectly with Klopp’s Anfield blueprint.

Llorente has an eye for goal too, netting seven times last season with his aerial presence making him a big threat at set pieces. No wonder the Liverpool fans are keen to see the Spain international on Merseyside – those who have heard of him that is.
