The centre-back started for Liverpool against Southampton this weekend.
Liverpool have not got the best recent record when it comes to signing centre-backs, but Ragnar Klavan has done his best to endear himself to the Anfield faithful, even if some continue to question his quality.
The Estonia international has now started Liverpool’s last three matches, helping them to three convincing victories in the process, and the latest came on Saturday when he played the full 90 minutes of Liverpool’s match against Southampton.
Liverpool are finding form at the perfect time, heading into the busy Christmas and New Year period with the bit between their teeth.
There is still a very long way to go, yet it seems Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has now sorted his back-line, ensuring he is not over-reliant on an admittedly impressive attack.
Klavan has plenty of experience and he looked like being a fine addition for the Reds, even if that was as a bit-part player.
However now it seems he is an integral part of Klopp’s thinking and it will be interesting to see how he fares with the matches about to come thick and fast.
