Manchester United have reportedly sounded out former Liverpool magician Philippe Coutinho.

Whether it’s genuine or a prime example of why this time of the year is called silly season, Liverpool fans are worried about one transfer rumour.
According to Mundo Deportivo in Spain, Manchester United have asked about none other than Philippe Coutinho, who left Liverpool 12 months ago to join Barcelona in a £142 million transfer [The Guardian].
Fast forward a year and things haven’t really gone to plan for the Brazilian magician, who has failed to make Ernesto Valverde’s first XI for Barca’s last four league games.
And now the Red Devils, Liverpool’s bitter rivals, are reportedly keen after asking his agent about Coutinho’s situation.
The 26-year-old’s departure caused quite a bit of bad blood, but many fans of the Anfield club remain fond of the former Inter Milan star for a memorable five-year stint on Merseyside, though any amicability will fly out the window if Coutinho does indeed join United.
Here’s how some Liverpool fans reacted to the rumour:
Coutinho, whose contract expires in 2023, has netted six goals in 24 games across all competitions for the Spanish giants this season.
