Liverpool got back to winning ways in the Champions League on Tuesday night as they beat Ajax 1-0 at Anfield.
The Reds claimed all three points as Curtis Jones prodded home a second half winner, capitalising on Andre Onana’s mistake.
Liverpool still needed youngster Caoimhin Kelleher to come up with a big save, denying Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s close-range header late in the day.
Jurgen Klopp’s men weren’t quite at their best going forward, but part of that may be down to the performance of Perr Schuurs.
The Mirror reported in October that Liverpool are eyeing up a January deal to sign Schuurs, in an attempt to ease their defensive injury crisis.
The centre back had a trial at Liverpool in 2018 whilst with Fortuna Sittard, but chose a move to Ajax instead, where he is now playing regularly.

Schuurs, 21, impressed last night as he helped keep the likes of Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah off the scoresheet, and Liverpool fans were loving his performance.
Some called Schuurs ‘the real deal’ and ‘brilliant’, believing that his performance against Mane in particular is why Liverpool should sign him in January.
Others urged Michael Edwards to make the call now and get a January deal done, hoping that he is working on a move now.
