Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes are surely over after losing 3-1 away at Leicester City – despite being 1-0 up.

The Reds needed a big response having lost 4-1 to Manchester City last weekend, and did take the lead through Mohamed Salah in the second half.

However, Liverpool completely fell apart in the second half, with James Maddison firing a free kick into the net before all hell broke loose in the Reds defence.

Debutant Ozan Kabak collided with Alisson to gift Jamie Vardy a goal, and more slack defending allowed Harvey Barnes to make it 3-1.

With Manchester City beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 later on Saturday, Liverpool are now 13 points adrift of Pep Guardiola’s at the top of the table, with their torrid form becoming a disaster.

Jurgen Klopp decided to hand a debut to defender Kabak following his deadline day move from Schalke, but it didn’t really go to plan for him.

Kabak was a little shaky and then played a big part in the calamitous second goal for Leicester, but Liverpool fans are also frustrated with his post-match actions.

Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu posted a photo on Twitter swapping shirts with Kabak, given that the pair know each other from Turkish international duty.

A meeting between friends hasn’t gone down well with Liverpool fans, who believe that posing after a 3-1 defeat was ‘shocking’.

Others weren’t quite so strong, but were still left stunned that Kabak decided to give away his debut shirt, seemingly expecting him to cherish the shirt – though after such a torrid defeat, he may not want to remember it in a hurry!
