Liverpool were heavily linked with Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepe before he moved to the Emirates Stadium.

Liverpool fans are slating Nicolas Pepe’s display for Arsenal in the North London Derby.
Liverpool were heavily linked with Pepe over the summer in The Times, but Jurgen Klopp’s side decided against making a move.
Arsenal ended up bringing in the Ivorian from Lille in the end for a club record fee.
But Pepe’s performance yesterday did not do enough to make many Liverpool fans wish that he was now at Anfield.
Some Liverpool supporters may be writing Pepe off too soon, although there does seem areas of his game that he needs to work on at Arsenal.
Pepe has already been exposed as being very one-footed, with the attacker constantly cutting inside on to his left.
That does not necessarily mean that he will fail, as it is a move which Mo Salah likes to do at Liverpool, and Riyad Mahrez often performs at Manchester City, but Pepe does need to become less predictable.

Pepe’s decision making also needs to improve in the final third, but his skill in possession has been clear and his speed still makes him an exciting prospect for Arsenal supporters to watch.
Whether Pepe would currently be in Liverpool’s staring line-up is doubtful, as Klopp’s side’s front three have continued to impress this term.
Liverpool have been in excellent form so far this season, and are the only side to take maximum points from their first four league games.
