Liverpool will be delighted with the impact of attacker Diogo Jota, who has scored six goals in his last five games for the Reds.
The Reds pounced to sign Jota from Wolves in a £41million deal over the summer, whilst Ki-Jana Hoever moved to Molineux in the opposite direction.
Liverpool will currently feel like the winners with Jota in such great form whilst Hoever has played just 29 Premier League minutes for Wolves, though the 18-year-old is very much one for the future.
The Times reported over the weekend that the situation could have been very different, as Wolves targeted a different Liverpool defender before signing Hoever.
They claim that Wolves made contact about a deal for right back Neco Williams, viewing him as a potential replacement for Matt Doherty following his move to Tottenham.
The Welshman played 11 first-team games last season and four so far this season, with Jurgen Klopp seemingly a big fan having called him a ‘machine’ in August.
Liverpool fans have seen the news, with some believing that Hoever is ‘miles better’ and the Reds ‘lost’ this deal after all.
Some think it was the ‘wrong decision’, branding it a ‘joke’ as they seem to have higher hopes for Hoever than Williams moving forward.
