Liverpool got back to winning ways on Wednesday night, hammering Genk 4-1 away from home in a convincing victory.

The Reds drew at Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, meaning their Premier League winning run came to an end, and Jurgen Klopp will have been hoping for a much better display in Belgium.

That’s what he got, as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain found the net twice to put Liverpool 2-0 up, both strikes from outside the area, though the second was the better hit, with his effort from the outside of his right boot hitting the crossbar and going in.

Mohamed Salah set up Sadio Mane for number three, and Salah then got himself on the scoresheet with a superb fourth, beating the Genk defence before slotting home.

Stephen Odey pulled one back for Genk, but Liverpool head back to Anfield with all three points, and Klopp will be delighted with the display, and especially with two of his midfielders.

Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita have both suffered injury woes in recent times, and Keita was handed just a second start of the season in order to try and get up to speed.

The 24-year-old produced a strong cameo against United on Sunday, and he impressed again last night, with fans on Twitter branding his performance ‘brilliant’, ‘excellent’ and ‘outstanding’.

Some praised him for being ‘everywhere’ in the Liverpool midfield, and feels it’s frightening times for the rest of the Premier League if the Guinean can finally hit top form and fitness over the coming weeks and months.
