The former Egyptian striker thinks the Reds ace could be tempted by Real Madrid or Barcelona. Some Kop faithful don’t agree.

A number of Liverpool fans have been left unimpressed with comments from one of Mohamed Salah’s compatriots regarding the Reds star’s future.

Speaking to CNN, former Egypt international Mido suggested that Salah’s head could be turned by the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid should they come calling as “all the players are like that”.

The former Tottenham Hotspur forward – who had two stints at White Hart Lane between 2005 and 2007 – also claimed that the two La Liga sides have merely been waiting to see how the 26-year-old would do this season.

“I think if Salah scores 25 plus goals, I think they will come for him and it will be difficult for Liverpool to keep him,” said Mido.

The prospect of Salah going to Real doesn’t seem like the most realistic, considering his differences – to put it mildly – with Real stalwart Sergio Ramos, the defender’s tussle with the Egyptian ace in the Champions League final leading to an injury for the latter.

Likewise, numerous outlets including the Independent reported in November that Barca would be required to pay a €100million (£89million) surcharge should they sign another Reds player before 2020 as part of the deal which saw Philippe Coutinho swap Anfield for Camp Nou.
