Liverpool were quiet on transfer deadline day, choosing not to bring in a new signing despite the staggering 7-2 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa.
Jurgen Klopp didn’t bring in a new goalkeeper, and the likes of Harry Wilson and Xherdan Shaqiri ended up staying put despite links to other clubs.
The international deadline passed without Marko Grujic too, and some wondered what the coming months would hold for him given that he would likely be the odd man out when Liverpool registered their squads for the Premier League and Champions League.
Yet on Tuesday night, Liverpool confirmed that Grujic has indeed left the club, joining Portuguese giants Porto on a season-long loan move.
The 24-year-old has already been out on loan four times since becoming Jurgen Klopp’s first Liverpool signing in January 2016; once at Red Star Belgrade, once at Cardiff City and twice at Hertha Berlin.
Grujic has only managed 16 appearances for Liverpool, and will now hope that this latest loan move can finally land him a Liverpool role next season.

Fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the move, with some believing that Grujic deserved to stay at Anfield and is good enough to be playing for the Reds, with fans admitting they’re ‘gutted’ and think it’s a ‘poor decision’.
Others think that Grujic can now come back and replace either James Milner or Georginio Wijnaldum next season, with many fans a little disappointed by the move.
