Liverpool fans react to Manchester City reaching first Champions League final

Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to Manchester City reaching the Champions League final for the first time in their history.

Pep Guardiola’s side saw past PSG over two legs – dispatching them 4-1 – to book their Istanbul ticket against either Chelsea or Real Madrid.

Liverpool were the last English team to lift the European Cup, and that in an all-English final, which could happen again if Thomas Tuchel’s men can see past Madrid at Stamford Bridge tonight.

Plus, as many Liverpool fans will be aware, Istanbul has a special place in their heart because it was probably the greatest night in their history when they came from 3-0 down to beat AC Milan.

And now Man City can produce the greatest night in their history if they add their name alongside the greats of the past.

There’s no doubt that Man City have been the best team in the Premier League and Europe this season, and many will be in agreement that they more than deserve their place in the final.

But they still have to get over that line and over ten years after Man City were taken over by oil-rich owners, they may now secure the trophy they have craved the most.

Some will, of course, remained them of the money they have spent to reach this level, whilst others will applaud them for their efforts because they have been utterly dominant this season.
