Liverpool are English, European and World champions having become an absolute juggernaut under Jurgen Klopp’s stewardship.

The club have been sensational on the pitch and in the transfer market, with Michael Edwards earning deserved praise for his work at Anfield.

However, some players have gone on to become stars having struggled to make an impact with the Reds, such as RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi and Celta Vigo star Iago Aspas.

Another case is clear at Lazio, with playmaker Luis Alberto becoming a real sensation in Italy having failed to break through at Anfield.

Liverpool sold Alberto for just £6million in 2016, having played just 12 times for Liverpool following a 2013 move from Sevilla.

Since heading to Lazio though, Alberto has been an assist machine. This term, he has racked up 16 assists whilst also bagging six goals, whilst he also hit 19 assists in the 2017-18 season.

A creative player with outstanding quality on the ball, Alberto has spoken to France Football about his career, admitting that his Liverpool failure is his own fault for not showing the commitment and effort he should have done.

Now 27, Alberto can accept that he didn’t do enough at 20, which is an admirable quality, and some Liverpool fans now want him back.

Many believe that Liverpool need to re-sign Alberto as he would be Klopp’s second best midfielder right now and their most creative option, even urging the club to re-sign him instead of landing Bayern Munich’s Thiago.
