The Liverpool ace is set for a spell on the sidelines with a calf injury.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Xherdan Shaqiri is set for a prolonged period on the sidelines with a calf injury, when speaking to the club’s official website, and some Liverpool fans took to Twitter in reaction to the news.
The 27-year-old joined the Reds from Stoke City in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth £13 million according to BBC Sport, and he has gone on to rack up six goals and five assists in 30 appearances in all competitions.
Shaqiri would have been hoping for more game-time for Liverpool next season, however, so suffering a calf injury will be a real blow to his hopes of doing just that.
Whether Klopp will be forced into the transfer market as a result of the Swiss ace’s injury remains to be seen, but it could be argued that the Reds still have plenty in reserve, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana set to return, and Harry Wilson reads to take the next step up.

Some Liverpool fans took to Twitter, sharing their disappointment upon hearing that Shaqiri will be out for a prolonged period of time…
