Liverpool will be without Jordan Henderson for this evening’s clash at the Emirates.
It’s probably safe to say that Liverpool fans aren’t overly upset about Jurgen Klopp’s fitness update on Jordan Henderson.
On Friday, the Liverpool manager ruled Henderson out of this evening’s trip to in-form Arsenal.
The 28-year-old, a £20 million signing from Sunderland in 2011, has missed the Reds’ last two games with a hamstring injury and the trip to North London comes too soon for him.
In truth, Henderson has endured a mixed first few months to the campaign, and consistency has been his major problem.
Stringing together back-to-back good performances is something that has eluded the England international for much of the season, and fans of the Anfield club certainly aren’t disappointed to learn that he won’t face Arsenal.
Interestingly, Henderson’s absence opens the door for Fabinho to keep his place.
The former Monaco star made his full Premier League debut in the win over Cardiff City last weekend, and you could argue that he is a better option even if a fully-fit Henderson was available.
Fabinho joined the Merseysiders for around £39 million this past summer.
