Liverpool were far too strong for Arsenal this weekend, thumping them 4-0.
Liverpool showed what they are capable of when their forwards click into gear, with the Reds running out 4-0 winners against an Arsenal side that made some questionable defensive selections prior to kick off.
While summer signing Sead Kolasinac sat on the bench, Rob Holding kicked off the match for Arsene Wenger’s side, and Jurgen Klopp’s men duly ran riot.
At the opposite end of the field, Joe Gomez started his second successive league game for Liverpool and he looked comfortable throughout.
That was helped somewhat by Liverpool’s attacking prowess, but Gomez can still be proud of a job very well done.
The 20-year-old has had plenty of injury problems to contend with, however he is now back to his best and he proved that on Sunday.
After featuring for just one minute against Watford on the opening weekend, Gomez started against Crystal Palace and made it two clean sheets from two games as he kept a frustrated Arsenal attack at bay this weekend.
Gomez quickly impressed the Anfield faithful after joining Liverpool from Charlton Athletic and he now looks set to make up for lost time.
