Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Joel Matip against Chelsea at the weekend.
Matip was in action for Liverpool in their Premier League game against Chelsea away from home at Stamford Bridge in London on Sunday evening.
The 28-year-old central defender started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as Jurgen Klopp’s side won 2-1.
The Cameroon international – who has been on the books of Liverpool since 2016 – was superb at the back, as he held his own against Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham and did not put a foot wrong.
According to WhoScored, against Chelsea on Sunday evening, Matip had a pass accuracy of 67.5%, won five headers, and made three tackles, one interception and nine clearances.
There were some doubts over the defender when he initially arrived at Anfield, but the 28-year-old has established himself as an important player in Klopp’s team.
Liverpool fans were impressed with the display produced by Matip against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.
