Joe Gomez impressed for Liverpool on Sunday against Everton.

Joe Gomez posted arguably his most complete performance in a Liverpool shirt on Sunday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side left Anfield a little frustrated after being held to a 1-1 draw by an Everton side who were dominated in this afternoon’s Merseyside derby.
Mohamed Salah’s first-half opener was cancelled out by a Wayne Rooney penalty on 77 minutes and it was certainly a case of two points dropped for Liverpool.

There was, however, some major positives in the form of several individual performances – Salah was class again, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is going in the right direction – but most of the post-match praise was directed at one player and one player only: Gomez.
The 20-year-old, who joined Liverpool for £3.5 million under Brendan Rodgers in 2015, was forced to play at right-back but he proved his versatility with an outstanding display at both ends of the field. In defence he was an imposing, unbreakable figure, whereas going forward he looked perfectly natural.

The 6’2 defender, normally a centre-back, is rapidly developing into a major player for Klopp, and Liverpool fans’ affection for him grew following his performance against Everton.
