Liverpool fans have responded to reported target James Maddison on Twitter after he was named Norwich City’s Player of the Season.

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to urge reported target James Maddison to come to Anfield after he picked up the Norwich fans’ and players’ Player of the Season awards.

Maddison has enjoyed a stunning campaign with the Canaries, scoring 14 goals and contributing eight assists in the Championship. Unsurprisingly, he has attracted Premier League attention ahead of the summer.

The Daily Mirror recently reported that Norwich are prepared to sell Maddison for around £30 million at the end of the campaign, with Liverpool and Manchester City among those keen on handing the 21-year-old the chance to make the step up to the top flight.

Considering that Maddison is in his first year as a first-team regular at Carrow Road and is still developing, it could arguably be deemed a gamble for Premier League sides to meet Norwich’s reported asking price. But it appears that a number of Liverpool supporters are not particularly bothered by his price-tag.

That became apparent as the playmaker took to Twitter to comment on the fact that he had won the Player of the Year awards decided by the fans and by his teammates.

In response, several Reds fans suggested that Jurgen Klopp needs to make sure that Maddison makes the switch to Anfield during the coming months as he has the potential to be a real star of the future.
