Liverpool finished the season with 99 points, beating Newcastle United 3-1 at St James’ Park to finish off a great season.
Jurgen Klopp’s focus will quickly turn to next season, with the Reds no doubt keen to add reinforcements to the German’s squad.
Another winger may be ideal, offering some competition for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah – and a new name was linked on Sunday.
According to The Mirror (26/07, p80), Klopp is keen to raid Leicester City, as he wants to sign winger Harvey Barnes.
It’s stated that Klopp really likes Barnes’ energy and power running forward, believing he would be a great fit for the Liverpool system.
Barnes, 22, bagged six goals and eight assists in the Premier League this season, impressing under ex-Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

The young Englishman won’t come cheap, so Liverpool would have to find the cash for him, and Reds fans have been reacting on Twitter to the rumours.
Some believe that Barnes would be ‘immense’ under Klopp, believing that he would be ‘such a Klopp signing’.
Others think Barnes is an exciting target for the Reds, and could become a top player if he makes the move to Anfield.
