The Dutch midfielder struggled for Liverpool yesterday.
Some Liverpool fans on Twitter are really putting the boot into Gini Wijnaldum.
Liverpool went top of the Premier League with a 2-1 win at Leicester City, but some of Jurgen Klopp’s side were guilty of not turning up.
Goalkeeper Alisson was solely to blame for allowing Leicester a route back into the game; Mo Salah did not look like a Ballon d’Or nominee, and Trent Alexander-Arnold struggled.
But some fans of the Anfield club looked to be particularly upset with the Dutch midfielder who, it has to be said, didn’t have his best game alongside Jordan Henderson today.
It has been an otherwise pretty good season for Wijnaldum overall, but here is how some Reds supporters reacted to his performance yesterday:
Good or bad, at least Klopp has the option to replace Wijnaldum in Liverpool’s midfield after the international break if he wishes.
The German manager can rotate him with either Fabinho or Naby Keita, which is serious depth and one of the reasons why a lot of people fancy Klopp’s side to go all the way this season.
