Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Georginio Wijnaldum against Newcastle United.

Wijnaldum featured for Liverpool in their Premier League game against Newcastle away from home at St. James’ Park on Saturday evening.

The 28-year-old midfielder started the match and played for 66 minutes, when manager Jurgen Klopp decided to bring on Xherdan Shaqiri in his place.

The Netherlands international has been playing well for the Reds this season and is an important player for the Merseyside outfit, but the ex-PSV star failed to make a huge impact against his former Newcastle at St. James’ Park.

According to WhoScored, Wijnaldum played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 92.5%, took 56 touches, attempted one dribble, and made one tackle and one clearance.

Liverpool won the match 3-2 to maintain pressure on Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.

Liverpool fans were not impressed with the display produced by Wijnaldum against his former club Newcastle and have criticised the midfielder on Twitter.
