The Italian giants came from behind to beat Tottenham 2-1 and reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 4-3 aggregate win over the Premier League side.
Costa – on loan from Bayern Munich – was arguably Juve’s best player, with the Brazilian terrorising Spurs throughout the first half in particular and should have won a penalty.
According to The Liverpool Echo, Liverpool were interested in the £35 million-rated winger last summer, though Massimiliano Allegri’s side won the race for his signature.
Nevertheless, fans of the Anfield club were full of admiration for the 27-year-old on Twitter last night.
In Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, Liverpool already have two outstanding wide options, but the addition of Costa would undoubtedly improve Jurgen Klopp’s squad and so long as he is on loan, there is still a possibility of the German manager signing him.
