According to Diario Gol, Liverpool have stepped up their efforts to sign Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos this month after meeting him in a hotel to discuss a potenital move to Anfield.
The 21-year-old midfielder joined the Spanish giants last summer for £15 million but has only managed six Primera Division appearances under Zinedine Zidane, and only two of those came from the start.
Given that he is out of the picture, speculation has mounted that Ceballos – who has a £442 million buyout clause in his contract, to deter Barcelona, according to AS – has been linked with a move away and Liverpool are among those reportedly keen on him.

The Reds sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona this week and Diario Gol are reporting that the Anfield club have met with Ceballos over the prospect of him replacing the Brazilian.
However, the report goes on to claim that Zidane remains a big fan of the former Real Betis starlet and does not plan on losing him.

It remains to be seen if Liverpool can get their man, but fans of the Merseyside club are certainly hoping that a deal materialises.
