Benteke left Anfield for Crystal Palace in August but delighted his former club’s fans on Friday.

Everton fans knew, deep down, they were always likely to suffer at the hands – or rather, head – of ex-Liverpool striker Christian Benteke.
The Belgian returned to Merseyside for the first time with new employers Crystal Palace on Friday and took a point off Ronald Koeman’s Toffees.
Benteke’s national team colleague Romelu Lukaku had opened the scoring for the home side 10 minutes before the break, but when Joel Ward’s cross hung above Seamus Coleman in the air there would only be one outcome, really.

Though the result lifted Everton above Liverpool in the Premier League table, the Reds will leapfrog their rivals with even a point at Swansea City on Saturday lunchtime.
Understandably, their fans were delighted with Benteke’s efforts, after the 25-year-old’s season of struggle at Anfield.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:
Benteke has now scored three goals in five league outings for Palace, and is well on the way to last season’s tally of nine in 29 for Liverpool.
Alan Pardew’s side remain seventh in the standings.
