Liverpool fans react to Billy Koumetio’s performance

Liverpool’s pre-season preparations continued this afternoon as they drew 2-2 with Red Bull Salzburg.

The Reds beat Stuttgart 3-0 over the weekend, but found it a little tougher going today as their Austria training camp continues.

Liverpool were 2-0 down inside the first 13 minutes of the game, as exciting Slazburbg striker Patson Daka scored a rapid brace.

Jurgen Klop rang the changes in the second half, and Rhian Brewster got himself a couple of goals to earn a 2-2 draw.

Brewster did his chances of Premier League action no harm with his goals, but it was another youngster who caught the eye.

Defender Billy Koumetio has been receiving some hype this summer, with Klopp seemingly excited about the 17-year-old talent.

The giant centre back arrived from Orleans in 2019, and has been in and around Klopp’s first-team setup during this trip to Austria.

Koumetio only played half an hour of action today, but that was enough for fans to praise him on Twitter.

Fans believe that Koumetio is ‘unreal’ and backed him to become a star, comparing him to Virgil van Dijk whilst believing that he can learn from the Dutchman at Anfield.
