It’s safe to say that Liverpool fans aren’t all that impressed with rumours about Bernd Leno.

According to Bild, Liverpool are interested in signing the Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper, who would cost somewhere in the region of £20 million.

The Reds are in the market for a new keeper after Loris Karius’s horror show in last month’s 3-1 defeat by Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev.

Leno, 26, has six caps for Germany, but fans of the Anfield club aren’t all that convinced that he is an ugprade on Karius.

Here’s how they responded to the rumour on Twitter:

They’re probably right. Liverpool need a top-class goalkeeper this summer and Leno might not be it.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have been heavily linked with a move for Roma stopper Alisson over the past six months or so, and the Brazilian would represent a much better option, even if he is more expensive.

Like any purchase, you get what you pay for and if Alisson – valued at £79 million, according to The Sun – is a lot more expensive it’s probably because he’s a lot better.
