Liverpool fans react to Ben Woodburn’s performance against Sydney FC

Liverpool overcame their Australian opponents in a post-season friendly match this week.

Liverpool may have completed their domestic duties with a comfortable victory against Middlesbrough last weekend but their players still had additional responsibilities before putting their feet up for a well deserved summer break.

The Reds travelled to Australia to take on Sydney FC in a specially arranged friendly this week, and Jurgen Klopp’s men ran out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Daniel Sturridge, Alberto Moreno and Roberto Firmino.

The match also saw another chance for teenager Ben Woodburn to impress, and his work to set up the opening goal was an indication of his undeniable talent.

The 17-year-old featured nine times for Liverpool’s first-team during the competitive campaign, scoring his first senior goal in the EFL Cup quarter-final victory against Leeds United.

The cup competitions offered the most chances of first-team glory this season, but on recent evidence he will surely be pushing for more chances in the Premier League.

An impressive pre-season will stand him in good stead, and of all Liverpool’s exciting youngsters Woodburn looks one of the very best.
