Liverpool’s young guns overcame their Huddersfield Town counterparts this weekend.
Liverpool’s under-23s put in a scintillating display on Sunday afternoon as they overcame their Huddersfield Town counterparts 6-2 in the Premier League Cup group stage.
The young Reds were a class apart with Harry Wilson and Ben Woodburn the standout performers as each hit braces on the day.

Woodburn may only be 17 but he has already shown glimpses of what he can do for Jurgen Klopp’s senior side, and on this evidence he is far too good for under-23 football.
Not that he will be complaining as he both scored and assisted on a memorable afternoon for Liverpool’s next generation.

Woodburn is tipped to be the next big thing at Anfield and while Wilson is also expected to make the step up in due course, his younger teammate could well be the pick of the bunch.
