Liverpool fans don’t want Jurgen Klopp to sign Andre Gomes this summer.
Liverpool fans have reacted negatively to transfer rumours about a move for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool is a potential destination for the Premier League-linked star.
The 24-year-old, also linked with Tottenham and West Ham, has only started 10 games for Barca in what looks like being another low-profile season at Camp Nou, having also struggled for regular games last term.
Gomes, who helped Benfica to a domestic treble in 2014, is valued at around £40 million and his agent has reportedly already spoken to officials at Liverpool about a summer move.
But fans of the Anfield club don’t want to see him on Merseyside next season.
With Emre Can – who will sign a new deal if he gets £200k per week, according to The Mirror – looking likely to leave this summer, it leaves manager Jurgen Klopp with a dilemma.
The German could either simply replace him with the Naby Keita, who joins in June, or bring another body in to intensify competition for midfield places.
