Liverpool could not get the better of Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

Liverpool lost 4-1 to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday with two goals from Harry Kane and strikes from Heung-min Son and Dele Alli ensuring the hosts ran out comfortable winners.
Liverpool’s goal came courtesy of the always impressive Mohamed Salah, but not many of his Reds teammates left the field with their heads held high.

It could be argued that full-back’s Joe Gomez and Alberto Moreno did their best, with the former reverting to centre-back after a tactical change and the latter continuing to do what was asked of him even if some doubters remain.
Moreno has featured 121 times for Liverpool now and he should be reaching his peak, but consistency is still required to ensure he wins over the remaining critics and a potential role ahead of summer signing Andy Robertson could suit all parties.

For now Moreno continues to keep his fellow left-back out of the starting XI but it is clear that something needs to change as Liverpool’s good work going forward is regularly undermined by the porous nature of their back line.
Liverpool’s latest defeat leaves them ninth in the table with 13 points from a possible 27 and their manager Jurgen Klopp has more work to do on the training field in the weeks ahead.
