The Liverpool defender is out of contract in the summer.
According to a report from Portuguese media outlet A Bola, Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno is a summer transfer target for Benfica, and some Reds fans took to Twitter in response to the speculation.
The 26-year-old has been a real disappointment for Liverpool, since moving to Anfield from Sevilla nearly five years ago for around £12 million, and with his contract running down, it seems as though his days on Merseyside are numbered.
Moreno’s current deal with the Reds is set to expire in the summer, and he will be free to leave Anfield on a free transfer.
Andy Robertson is currently Liverpool’s first choice left-back, whilst Joe Gomez can also fill in there.
Moreno leaving would not be a major issue for the Merseyside outfit, considering the fact that Jurgen Klopp has hardly used him at all this season.
And many Liverpool fans seemed to be rejoicing at the news that Moreno could be finally leaving Anfield this summer…
