Liverpool fans have criticised Adam Lallana after his performance against Arsenal last night.
Lallana was one of the few senior players who Jurgen Klopp named in Liverpool’s starting line-up for the contest, but he did not exactly stand out.
Liverpool eventually won the contest on penalties, after playing out a 5-5 draw.
But Lallana did not take the game by the scruff of the neck as many expected.
And Liverpool fans have been critical of the England international’s display.
Lallana’s goal against Manchester United recently was supposed to revive his Liverpool career, but his performance yesterday is unlikely to pushed him any closer to becoming a regular starter.
That said, Lallana was played in a more defensive role than he usually plays, which didn’t suit him ideally.
Lallana looks likely to drop to the bench for Liverpool’s next match, which comes at the weekend against Aston Villa.
