Xherdan Shaqiri was a late substitute in Liverpool’s win over PSG.

Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri swapped Stoke for Anfield in the summer and last night underlined exactly why.
Shaqiri came off the bench to play a key role in Liverpool’s dramatic Champions League match with Paris Saint-Germain.
He was replacing the surprisingly ineffective Mohamed Salah, who has struggled to recapture last season’s form.
Shaqiri came on the 84th minute with the score at 2-2, and was in a hurry to try and make an impact in his limited game time.
The Swiss international was taking corners and was trying to pump up the crowd when the scores were level.

A late goal from Roberto Firmino settled the tie, with the Brazilian prodding in from close range to give Liverpool a welcome 3-2 win to help their Champions League campaign get off to a fast start.
Shaqiri played like someone who was desperate to make an impression and earn more opportunities.

With Salah struggling a little and perhaps in need of a rest, Shaqiri could be in line for a starting role against Southampton this weekend.
