Shaqiri provided an assist in the victory, his third in three consecutive appearances for the Reds.
As a summer signing from Stoke City, Shaqiri was very much a case of Liverpool taking a flier on his talent.
Already he looks a bargain, fitting seamlessly into Liverpool’s style of play and adding strength in depth to a squad which looks set to challenge for silverware.
He has already won over manager Jurgen Klopp, who embraced him warmly after the game.
The Swiss international is adding to his reputation and proving Liverpool right for taking a gamble on him.
