The transfer window officially opened at the weekend and the most surprising rumour so far concerns Championship hopefuls Wolves.
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo report Ruben Neves is set to sign with Wolves, despite previously being tipped for a big Premier League move.

It is important to understand the context to this move. Wolves’ owners Fosun International have close contacts with powerful agent Jorge Mendes, who is pushing the deal, and they have made impressive captures of Helder Costa and Ivan Cavaleiro over the past 12 months.
Even so the move come as a shock. Portuguese newspaper A Bola recently suggested Liverpool were plotting a move for Neves, and Reds fans were excited by the possibility.
Hearing that Wolves are set to win the race to Neves prompted a very different reaction, with Liverpool supporters bemused and frustrated they are about to miss out.
The central midfielder is one of the most highly rated young players in Portugal and it is a surprise he hadn’t already been snapped up.
As for Wolves supporters, they are revelling in the reports. After a mid-table Championship finish and two managers coming and going over the past 12 months they seemed further away from the Premier League than ever.
The imminent signing of Neves has changed that, and the ambition being shown could attract further quality signings to Molineux.
Supporters could not resist having a dig at Liverpool fans over their incoming transfer success…
