Watford midfielder Will Hughes offered an impressive reminder of his talent by inspiring the Hornets to a win over West Ham.

Hughes signed for Watford from Derby County in the summer after years of being linked with a move to the Premier League.

Liverpool were first linked with Hughes in 2012 by The Telegraph, when he was just 17.

Derby held firm but rumours persisted, with The Mirror reporting in 2013 that the Reds had agreed a first option deal for the prospect.

There was barely an eyelid raised on Merseyside when Watford signed Hughes this summer, but his performance at the weekend made fans sit up and take notice.
