Tottenham will now face Liverpool at Wembley.
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed their new ground will not host their fixture against Liverpool next month.
Instead Spurs will play at Wembley until further notice, as they did last season.
The NFL game set to be hosted at Tottenham’s new stadium has also been moved to Wembley, the latest in a series of setbacks for the club.
The game between Spurs and Liverpool was a glamour fixture which would have certainly been worthy of kicking off a new era for the Lilywhites.
A return to Wembley is a little underwhelming, but for Liverpool it poses just as much of a challenge.
The Reds were thrashed there by Spurs last season, 4-1, and now they will be out for revenge.
Liverpool have improved a lot in the past year, and some fans have even been claiming Tottenham have switched the fixture to avoid being embarrassed on their grand opening…
