Jurgen Klopp’s side equalised Sergio Aguero’s opener through Roberto Firmino, before Leroy Sane struck a winner.
As Liverpool chased a second goal, Xherdan Shaqiri was brought on for Sadio Mane.
While some would have preferred to see Jordan Henderson taken off and an attacking dangerman like Mane kept on, the winger really had done little to justify it.
Mane managed only 33 touches in 77 minutes, having one shot on target, and failing to create any chances.
To be fair, this was one more touch than Mohamed Salah made in 90 minutes.
The dangerman scored in Liverpool’s 5-1 win over Arsenal but last night was not his best game.
Liverpool fans were not impressed with Mane and called him out.
