Liverpool’s winning run in the Premier League ended today, as they drew 1-1 away at rivals Manchester United, with Adam Lallana bagging a late equaliser.

The Reds headed to Old Trafford with 17 Premier League wins in a row and no points dropped this season, but were missing star winger Mohamed Salah this afternoon.

United were spirited and well-drilled, and took the lead in the first half as Daniel James broke down the right flank, and crossed in for Marcus Rashford to score from close range.

Divock Origi appeared to be fouled in the build-up, but VAR let the goal stand, and Liverpool were left cursing VAR again shortly after as Sadio Mane’s equaliser was ruled out for handball.

United couldn’t find a crucial second goal, and were made to pay as Andrew Robertson’s low cross somehow made it all the way through to the back post, where Adam Lallana tapped home.

That rescued a point for Liverpool, and it could have been even more as a late Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain strike whistled past the post, but a draw was probably a fair result.

Some Liverpool players just didn’t turn up today, with striker Roberto Firmino one of them, as the £180,000-a-week forward seemed to be missing Salah playing around him.

Liverpool fans have been taking to Twitter to criticise Firmino, suggesting he was ‘useless’ today and served up a ‘disasterclass’, even calling the Brazilian ‘pathetic’, ‘dire’ and ‘abysmal’ after a tough outing at Old Trafford.
