Many Liverpool supporters on Twitter are delighted to hear the reports that defender Alberto Moreno could be leaving the club for Lazio this summer.

The Independent claim that the Serie A side are close to agreeing to a pre-contract agreement with the 26-year-old, who has fallen out of favour at Anfield in recent seasons.

If the Spanish left-back does make the switch to Italy then he will reunite with former Liverpool favourite Lucas Leiva, who is enjoying great success since leaving the Premier League.

Nonetheless, the Liverpool supporters were pleased to hear that they will finally see the back of Moreno, who has not been able to live up to expectations since joining the club five years ago.

He has struggled to prove his worth from a defensive standpoint, with Andrew Robertson now the main man for Jurgen Klopp in that full-back position – According to Spotrac, Moreno is currently earning £65k-a-week at Anfield.

Here is a selection of Liverpool fans reacting to those Moreno rumours:

Over the course of this season, Moreno has only started two Premier League matches for Klopp, with the German only playing him on five occasions this term in all competitions [transfermarkt].

There is no doubt that Moreno has been found out defensively in England, with the pace of the game and the quality of players proving too quick for him.
