Liverpool winger Sadio Mane could feature this weekend.
Liverpool appear to have dodged a big scare over winger Sadio Mane.
Mane was reported to have picked up an injury this week but Liverpool have moved to allay fears that it is serious.
The club’s official website reported that Mane could even feature against Stoke City this weekend.
Manager Jurgen Klopp said: “It is not that serious; there is a chance for tomorrow. If we use that chance or not… it is quite early in the day.
Mane is one of Liverpool’s three key attackers along with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino and the Reds cannot afford to lose any of them as they pursue Champions League glory.
Midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered an injury earlier in the week which has ruled him out for the season and the World Cup.
Liverpool play in the early Premier League kick off against Stoke City on Saturday and the smart move is to leave Mane on the bench.
The away leg against Roma is next week and Liverpool will be prioritising that for Mane’s return, but the fact he ‘could’ play against Stoke is a great sign for the trip to Italy.
