Liverpool have a famously dangerous front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, but may need to add one more attacker.

The Reds need to add depth to Jurgen Klopp’s front line, and a host of forwards have been linked with the club this summer.

A new link has emerged, as Far Post in Zambia claim that Liverpool are interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka.

Now, this isn’t exactly a tier one source as things stand, but Daka is from Zambia, so we will at least treat the rumour as plausible given that it has emerged from his homeland.

The report suggests that Liverpool are favourites to sign Daka, ahead of Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.

We would accept some scepticism over this one given given that it doesn’t come from a leading source, but Daka would make some sense.

He is quick and energetic, he smashed 27 goals last season and has been schooled at Red Bull Salzburg just like Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino.

Liverpool fans have been reacting on Twitter to the rumour, suggesting that Daka would be the ideal replacement for Divock Origi in the Liverpool attack.

Some want to see him form a partnership with Rhian Brewster in the future, though others aren’t sure Daka is worth signing given that Brewster is already at Anfield.
