The former Southampton right-back, a £10 million signing in 2015, hasn’t kicked a ball for the Reds all season due to a back problem.
But The Liverpool Echo reported on Monday that Clyne is in contention to mark his long-awaited return in Saturday’s visit of Crystal Palace, after Joe Gomez was injured for England on international duty.
And suffice to say that fans of the Anfield club are absolutely loving it.
Liverpool fans are right to be delighted.
With Gomez injured, it meant that Klopp would have had to start 19-year-old Trent Alexander-Arnold in the upcoming Champions League quarter-final with Manchester City if Clyne was not available.
And considering how brilliant Leroy Sane has been this season, the German winger would have been licking his lips against the young man, but the return of Clyne means that Sane can expect a tougher 180 minutes.
