The Liverpool forward is set to be offered a new contract, according to reports.

According to a report from the Mirror, Liverpool are prepared to offer Divock Origi a new contract, after the Belgian’s exploits in the Champions League semi-final vs Barcelona, and some Reds fans took to Twitter in reaction to the news.

The 24-year-old starred for the Reds against Barca on Tuesday night, scoring two goals, and helping his side to a historic victory in the process.

Origi has never really lived up to expectations since joining Liverpool from Lille in the summer of 2014, but maybe now he will start to prove his worth.

The Belgium international certainly did just that against Barca on Tuesday night, when he deputised for Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

He currently earns £45,000 per week, according to Spotrac, and he is out of contract in the summer of 2020.

Some Liverpool fans took to Twitter, and many were delighted with the news that Origi could be offered a new deal…
