Liverpool’s Joao Teixeira is signing with Porto.
Promising Portuguese talent Joao Teixeira yesterday confirmed he has decided to quit the club.
Teixeira becomes a free agent at the end of this month, and will join Primeira Liga side Porto.

Quoted by The Express, Teixeira explained the chance to play regularly was the big factor behind his decision, describing it as a ‘dream move’.
Teixeira was signed by the Reds in 2013 after impressing in the NextGen Series against the Reds for Sporting Lisbon.

He was called up to the first team by Brendan Rodgers a year later and while he went onto make his Premier League debut, he never really nailed down a spot, and was loaned out to Brighton the following year.
Teixeira’s chances did not improve after Jurgen Klopp was appointed as Liverpool boss, used only sparingly, while other young players like Sheyi Ojo and Kevin Stewart got bigger roles.

Breaking into the first team was always going to be difficult for Teixeira next season, with Coutinho and Robert Firmino demanding and deserving of roles in attack.
At 22, he needs to go and play regularly, and a return to his homeland with Porto, where many top stars have blossomed and gone onto even bigger success, is one of the best moves he could have made.
Here is a look at how Reds fans reacted to the developments…
